How are you being a leader?

I have been thinking a great deal recently about the question, "What is a leader?" More specifically, what is the definition of being a 'leader' that I feel is most relevant for these times. Perhaps there is something in this last sentence - being a leader. What is the being of a leader? And what is the key quality or qualities that distinguishes a leader from a 'non-leader'?

Some guiding thoughts for my life and work

I recently had dinner with a group of friends with whom I have a deep love, respect and admiration. Individually, they are each mentors, spiritual guides and advisors to my own journey. In coming together for the first time a a group over dinner a short time ago, we became a collective 'wise council' for each other. And given that we each live in different part of the world, our 'physical' time together extra special. Our time together also reminded me that Universe provides when the student is ready!

The renovation within

Last weekend and after an extended delay, our renovation started. My wife (Belinda) and I have been planning this renovation for the past 3 years. The idea first germinated as she fell of the stairs to the back door of our house and I muttered somewhat unconvincingly, “I should fix those steps”. The next thing I knew, we were talking to architects about how to best position the back steps in relation to the “indoor-outdoor” living space that was to replace where our kitchen was currently located.
